Mantra Erskine Beach Resort is located on absolute beachfront, in the historic seaside town of Lorne along Victoria's famous Great Ocean Road. Under two hours' drive from Melbourne, the resort is nestled between the crystal clear water of Louttit Bay and the Otway Hinterland.

Mantra Erskine Beach Resort is the largest conference and accommodation venue in the region, offering a 500 seat convention centre and 276 apartments. Boasting a $20 million refurbishment, new resort features include a restaurant, café, cocktail bar, indoor lap pool, gymnasium, steam room, 24 hour reception and day spa. Take advantage of the resort's incredible array of outdoor activities, including lawn bowls, croquet, tennis and a putting green or stroll along the beach and walk to Lorne Pier.

History

The heritage listed original building of Mantra Erskine Beach Resort was originally built in the 1870s by the Mountjoy family of Lorne as a farmhouse. The building was redeveloped in the 1880s as a temperance hotel and finally became the prestigious guesthouse visited by such distinguished quests as author Rudyard Kipling.

Accommodation

This magnificent 4.5 star resort offers a range of accommodation options from modern hotel suites to spacious two bedroom apartments, providing the highest standard of facilities with many apartments featuring filtered ocean views.

Guests can also enjoy the convenience of complimentary car parking, twenty-four hour reception, business centre facilities, accessible lift access, ramped pathways, wheelchair access, eight rooms with disabled facilities and baby-sitting services.

1 Bedroom Apartment

Available with queen bed + sofa bed, there are a limited number of rooms available with king bed (zip) which can be divided into 2 single beds. The suite features private ensuite, spa, fully equipped kitchen and laundry, separate lounge/dining area, DVD, wireless broadband access, Foxtel, reverse cycle air-conditioning and private balcony.

1 Bedroom Ocean rooms are also available with filtered ocean and beach views.

Resort Room

Available with king bed (zip) which can be divided into 2 single beds. The room features tea and coffee making facilities, a bar fridge, basic crockery and glassware, TV and VCR, Foxtel and reverse cycle air-conditioning.

Dining

Mantra Erskine Beach Resort places great emphasis on their guests' dining experiences, offering the highest standards of variety, quality, atmosphere and service. Utilising the freshest local produce, Restaurant 144 guarantees diners the ultimate in gourmet Surf Coast cuisine. The restaurants wine list features renowned local wines and a selection of Australian favourites, chosen carefully to enhance the style of their food, which is sure to impress.

Mount Joy Café Bar is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and caters for indoor and outdoor dining with views over the sea grass lawns toward the Lorne beach. Three main spacious dining rooms with a total seating capacity for 250 guests provide a choice of décor, atmosphere and views.

The Mount Joy Café Bar offers a spacious, contemporary and relaxed atmosphere with an open fireplace and an outdoor terrace for the enjoyment of great coffee, leaf teas, a wide selection of wines and boutique beers along with a variety of delicious cakes.

Recreation

Offering an extensive array of recreational options, Mantra Erskine Beach Resort offers a fully equipped gymnasium, new indoor lap pool, steam rooms, 3 tennis courts [1 grass and 2 synthetic], as well as a croquet pitch, 18 hole putting green and access to the Lorne lawn bowls club. A new day spa is located in the heritage-listed area of the resort, featuring a variety of treatments.

Transport, Tours and Attractions

The drive to Lorne offers some of the most spectacular coastline scenery in the world. The Angahook State Forest features more than 100km of walking trails, with trails to suit all needs, ranging from low impact to moderate. The forest also offers a glimpse of paradise with the breathtaking Erskine Falls and abundant bird and wildlife.

Teddy's Lookout offers fantastic views of the surrounding area, as does the Otway Fly Tree Top Walk, where visitors can walk amongst the beech myrtle rainforest canopy. For something a little different, scenic flights along the coast and to the Twelve Apostles provide an alternative way of viewing the beauty of the area. The Great Ocean Road, from Lorne to Port Fairy, boasts an endless array of stunning natural attractions and cultural highlights providing an ideal environment for those guests looking for a bit of adventure or sightseeing.

As well as the physical attractions Lorne has to offer, the town itself offers an eclectic assortment of boutiques, cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars and entertainment.

Visa Requirements

Participants of an event or conference in Australia will generally need to apply for a subclass 456 Business (Short Stay) Visitor Visa.
